Community Property. Retirement benefits acquired during the marriage (pension, profit sharing, 401(k) plans, IRAs, etc.) are community property. Each spouse is entitled to half of whatever either of you acquired during the marriage, and the court can split up the retirement benefits so that payments are made directly to you.
